Leg #1 of the Lakes-to-Ocean Trail
The Hoosier Trail is a 420 mile path that stretches across Indiana from Chicago, IL to Louisville, KY.
It divides the state in half and is designed to really explore everything about Indiana.
The path uses greenways in cities like Chicago and Indianapolis, old circus railways converted into
bike paths through farmlands and sidewalks in smaller towns to wilderness trail just below Martinsville
and Bloomington on the Tecumseh Trail, Pioneer Trail and Knobstone Trail. Where it ends at the
Second Street Bridge in Jeffersonville, IN just on the other side of the Ohio River from Louisville.
It is a fantastic way to experience Indiana!
The Thru Hiker's Manual for the Hoosier Trail of Indiana is now a 100 page book with trail
information, directions to the hundredth of a mile and a business directory of over 1,000 businesses
that have services and supplies for hikers. This is a bound paperback book with a spine that is
professionally put together for durability.
