PT - Palmetto Trail

               The Thru-Hiker's Manual tm
                  for the Palmetto Trail
                    of South Carolina

The Palmetto Trail is 472 miles across South Carolina. It starts in Oconee State Park near the GA/NC borders and winds through mountains, hillsides, farmlands, marsh, swamp to the Atlantic Ocean by way of several small towns and big cities to end at Buck Hall Landing in Awendaw.  The trail is divided up into sections and passages to make planning an adventure easier. The terrain for this journey varies from wilderness trail to forest road, dirt, gravel, paved and sidewalks. The established parts of the trail equal up to about 3/4 finished so there are road pieces to connect the completed sections. These road walks are on back roads and primarily avoids high speed traffic on the busier highways. It is an amazing adventure that will take the average hiker about 1 1/2 - 2 months to complete a thru-hike on. My experience in South Carolina was truly a journey of happiness, adventure and fun. The people along the path added so much to the experience.
The Thru-Hiker's Manual for the Palmetto Trail of South Carolina is finished and ready for the trail. I finished writing it on
March 31st. It took a little while at the printers but it is finally published. This is probably the best Manual produced so far. I took some extra time on this one to make sure it wasn't just good enough. I wanted it to be perfect. It will allow you to accomplish hiking this trail without a lot of stress or confusion so that you really can go out and have a good time. I hope you all get to enjoy a hike in South Carolina on the Palmetto Trail.
